International Guild of Realism Presents the 7th Annual IGOR Exhibition
Make plans now to see the 7th Annual IGOR Exhibition. The final jury is now completed and all notifications have been made to all IGOR entrants. This will be by far their largest exhibition ever in terms of both artists and paintings.

This year it will be held at the prestigious Jones & Terwilliger Galleries in the heart of the Carmel art district, California, USA. The gallery is centrally located among many quality art galleries, luxury shops and fine dining, attracting plenty of affluent visitors during the peak summer season, only two hours away from San Francisco.

Exhibition Dates: September 7th – 30th, 2012
Opening Reception: Saturday, September 15th, 2012 – 5 to 8pm

At the Edge: The Art of the Fantastic is now in full swing
This year, the Association of Fantastic Art in coordination with the Allentown Art Museum, Pennsylvania, USA, has put together a groundbreaking exhibition, AT THE EDGE: THE ART OF THE FANTASTIC, which will take place from June 3rd through September 9th, 2012. This exhibition gambits the timeline of this genre, including over 150 painting from the Romantics and Pre-Raphaelites through the Golden Age of Illustration to the present.
“I was very impressed with At the Edge. Not only were the works imaginative, ambitious, and highly skilled, the orchestration showed a great connection between works of the past and present illustrating how artists of today have built on and evolved from the artists of the past. I believe this show to be revolutionary in quality and subject mater, attracting both an older audience who loves farmiliar stories and legends, to a youthful audience who is inspired by not only fantasy, but Science Fiction and Symbolist imagery.”

Self-Portraits II Exhibition
An exhibit of self-portraits at the Eleanor Ettinger Gallery from June 14 – July 14, 2012 will include work by ARC Living Masters™ Cesar Santos, Daniel Graves, Daniel Greene, and Dana Levin among many others.

ARC Living Master™ James Gurney News
Congratulations to ARC Living Master™ James Gurney for receiving the “Grand Master” award at the “Spectrum Live” convention of contemporary fantastic art in Kansas City, Missouri.

The honor has been given out once per year to “a living artist whose career has spanned at least twenty years, whose work has achieved and maintained a high-level of skill and imagination, and who has inspired others with their art and attitude.”

Academy of Realist Art Scholarship Competition
The ARC Approved™ Academy of Realist Art has launched its first annual scholarship competition for promising artists with a love for academic style painting and drawing.

ARA models their curriculum and classical techniques on those used by 19th-century European academies to help students master fine art skills.

The deadline for the ARA scholarship is September 30, 2012.
