New Work Added to the Live ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that Winter by Robert Liberace has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
“The passing of seasons marks significant transformations, evoking endless cycles of birth, death and rebirth. The painting, Winter, is one of a series of paintings intended to touch on these characteristics. It shows my youngest daughter, Ava, as the personification of Winter; bundled and protected in wools and furs. She is adorned with branches from our holly tree, an ancient tree of hope, which signifies continued growth and renewal.” – Robert Liberace
The 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition will be on view at the Salmagundi Club, NYC from May 12th – June 1st with the public opening reception on Saturday, May 13th from 11am to 3pm. The works will then travel to the MEAM Museum, Barcelona where they will be on view from September 23rd – November 27th.

New Addition to ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that Happy Birthday, Tristesse by Dirk Dzimirsky has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
“This artwork is not about a fun birthday party. I imagined what it would be like leading a dull life without perspective and how it would look when a person would celebrate that, just for the sake of celebration, not because you cherish it. This probably comes from an experience I had when I was a child. I attended a friend’s birthday party but it was such a sad and depressing event because his mother did not care about him and all the children felt quite uncomfortable and were unhappy. Until then I never really had experienced something depressing like that, but the memory of this never went away and influenced my art later onwards” – Dirk Dzimirsky
The 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition will be on view at the Salmagundi Club, NYC from May 12th – June 1st with the public opening reception on Saturday, May 13th from 11am to 3pm. New Addition to ARC Live Salon
We are pleased to announce that Still Life: Flowers by Dmitry Sevryukov has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
Dmitry Sevryukov is an acknowledged Realist artist whose work impetuously wins recognition all over the world. Inspired by masterpieces of the old masters and being taught by distinguished modern painters, Dmitry has developed his own method of realistic, artistic representation of natural objects, based on the thorough elaboration of compositional details in the context of the overall unity. At the same time, the magic play of contrasts, forms, colors and shades in Dmitiry’s paintings, as well as his skillful use of light and formation, generates that extraordinary perception of his work which differentiates the genuine work of art from just the traditional. The unique paintings of Dmitry Sevryukov are a rare opportunity to admire and enjoy; magnificent, harmonious and multifaceted, nature made objects.
The 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition will be on view at the Salmagundi Club, NYC from May 12th – June 1st with the public opening reception on Saturday, May 13th from 11am to 3pm. New Addition to the Live ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that Ju Ju by Jeff Hein has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
This painting of Ju Ju is a portrait of the artist’s youngest apprentice at age 14. Capturing her intelligence and a sense of seriousness, the artist depicts that point in a girl’s life where she is transforming into a woman. The lighting in this painting is of particular interest, as there are two distinctive light sources; one coming from the sitter’s upper left illuminating her face, and the second from behind her head, causing an earthy halo from man made spot lights to appear around the rim of her hair. The artist accurately captured the sensation of this phenomenon with hot pink, wild, brushstrokes.

New Work Added to ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that Neck and Neck by Anni Crouter has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
“I often only include a singular subject in my work, but I thought the interaction of this mother and her young one was so endearing that I needed to paint it. I also do not usually include a lot of information in my backgrounds, as to focus on my subjects. The beautiful pose and long necks easily made a good composition. This piece was a joy to work on, I was almost sorry I had to put my brushes down.” – Anni Crouter

New Work Added to ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that XXII II MMVI by Kazua Torigoe has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
XXII II MMVI is a play on the classical idea of trompe-l’oeil and is painted on a traditional copper plate. The magic of this painting occurs when looking at it from approximately 6 feet away. This is where the objects in this work come alive and take on a feeling of the fourth-dimension, existing in our same time and space. When one approaches to get a closer look, the objects re-enter the three-dimensional plane and the viewer can tell it is in fact a painting.
The 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition will be on view at the Salmagundi Club, NYC from May 12th – June 1st with the public opening reception on Saturday, May 13th from 11am to 3pm. New Addition to Live ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that The Transcendence by Kevin Moore has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
The Transcendence was originally shown at Rehs Contemporary Galleries as a part an exhibition called ‘Sexes’. This painting is about how feminine beauty is transformed through the masks of makeup, jewelry, clothing, etc. All cultures share these characteristics of enhancing the female body, and an interesting question arises. What do women visually communicate with their bodies through these masks?” – Kevin Moore

New Addition to ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that Slumber by Tina Spratt has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
“I wanted to create the feeling of a fleeting moment in time, when unaware of being observed, there exists a naturalness and intimacy. The sleeping figure could move or open her eyes at any moment, and there is a voyeuristic feel to the painting. I frequently use fabrics in my work and the surrounding fabrics are beautiful in their own right. With a fascinating array of textures and subtle colors that enhance the overall mood of the piece, they also surround and almost cradle the figure, adding to the sense of intimacy and belonging. I hope to try and create paintings that are living and breathing with an honest, everyday beauty.” – Tina Spratt

New Work Added to ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that Envisage by Olena Babak has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
“Winter is the time when I have a chance to spend days in the studio and work on figurative projects. This portrait started as a study for a painting and then it took a life of its own. I often use charcoal to explore my ideas before going into paint as it is a very relaxing and meditative time. Here, I was trying to capture a fleeting moment when an idea comes to you. The smile represents the appreciation of it, the raised hand is the willingness for it, and the birds are the ebb and flow of creative energy. I prefer to use charcoal in most of my drawings. It gives me a range of values where I can easily achieve a delicate or expressionistic surface, without reaching for any other materials.” – Olena Babak

New Addition to Live ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that Exodus by Michael C Hayes has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
“The title of this painting, Exodus, implies both the leaving of an old place and the wandering search that must take place before a new chapter can begin. Beyond being an amalgamation of all the elements I enjoy painting, armor, beautiful women, architecture and horses, Exodus is a very personal piece for me that represents a recent period in my life. After years of working as a commercial illustrator, I made the decision to take a leap of faith and leave that career to pursue my own artistic visions. This was a time of both fearful uncertainty as well as hope for me, and I was driven to portray those feelings through the expression and body language of the painting’s protagonist, combined with the overall mood of the piece.” – Michael C Hayes

The 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition will be on view at the Salmagundi Club, NYC from May 12th – June 1st with the public opening reception on Saturday, May 13th from 11am to 3pm. New Addition to Live ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that Patience, Cocoons Are Temporary by Laura Pritchett has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
Patience, Cocoons Are Temporary, was an exercise of resting in the present and believing that grace, through difficulty, is rewarded with valuable growth. With her face veiled from view, the subject’s emotions are primarily expressed by her folded figure in contrast to the freely flowing fabric, unfurling above her. The invisible gust of wind that embodies her scarf is symbolic of God breathing life into dust, a stirring of hope, and a promise of future wings.” – Laura Pritchett

New Work Added to Live ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that Perched by Lorena Pugh has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
“Like so many artists before me, I relish painting the womanly pear. It is also a pleasure, when buying a pear, to find it wrapped in tissue. Over time these tissue wrappers became a major component of my work. There is something enticing about an organic form wrapped in translucent material. The nuance of how light filters through the diaphanous wrapper with a seemingly endless variety of folds and wrinkles is fascinating. Then, the light bounces off the pear bringing warmth or coolness with it to move again through the wrapper. It is a great delight for the eye. This piece, Perched, was a commission for a woman who has an affinity for birds. I had no intention when composing this painting to mirror her love of birds, but upon completion, I noticed it seems poised for flight.” – Lorena Pugh

New Work Added to Live ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that Life No. 1: Dust Impressions by Hongzheng Wang has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
“Selecting a woman, a fish and a burning candle as elements of my painting, I try to dispel the color in a simpler way to create a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, in which the woman, fish and candle are unified in a simple gray tone. It is expected that every viewer will not only be attracted to the superficial beauty, but also gain insight into the original entities being described through the work. My work does not aim to simply reproduce the reality, for absolutely ‘real’ things are not real to me. They are seemingly clear and ‘real’ but in actuality they are fantastical and transcend reality.” – Hongzheng Wang

New Addition to Live ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that The Coming Rain by David Santillanes has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.

“This painting began as a plein air study on a sunny afternoon by Crystal Creek. The story and the painting quickly changed as storm clouds began to build over the mountains. The Coming Rain is about those moments just before the storm, when a quiet stillness takes over the landscape.” – Dave Santillanes

New Work Added to Live ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that Reflection by Matthew Bober has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
“I designed this painting around the idea of setting up a still life in water. Setting up a dark lined reflecting pool in relation with the subdued chromatic background, the floating flowers, and the dark pedestal in the center all combined to create the atmosphere I was trying to achieve, stillness, and a feeling of architecture being taken back to a natural state. Atop the alter I was interested in the interplay of the delicate decay of the doll’s wax face and the sharp angular highlights of the plastic encompassing the monkey skull; so different, yet both belonging in that work. In my work, I give great thought to every object I let in, the light, the colors, the design, always making sure it is as tight as it can be and all working together to convey the emotion intended.” – Matthew Bober

New Work Added to Live ARC Salon
We are pleased to announce that Indian Peahen by Grace Kim has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.

“I chose to paint the head of the Indian Peahen to draw attention to a bird that is unfamiliar, and often overlooked. The peacock, which only refers to the males of the species, is widely recognized by its iridescent blue and green plumage. The peahen is often described as ‘drab’ and ‘mottled brown’ in comparison, and is rarely an artist’s focus. When I created Indian Peahen, the most challenging aspect was painting the crown of the peahen. It took well over one month to reproduce the detail and intricacy of the individual feathers. Just like in our society, where there is a disparity between men and women, this is also the case with the peafowl. The peacock gets all the attention, and all the glory, while the peahen is ignored. I enjoyed capturing and showcasing the peahen’s inherent beauty.” – Grace Kim
