  • Insecurity; forces at work

    TT:

    Well put. The intellectuals who created a Germany ripe for Hitler DID come over here in the 30's to escape what they had wrought ... and then they performed the same tricks for us. Luckily, we are not Germany and not everyone swallowed that stuff wholesale. The present day university is one of their achievements, especially philosophy departments....

    But it is my understanding that the moral relativism and French schools are passing out of favor in philosophy departments around the US, who appear to be favoring in many places a re-examination of virtue. And we know that as the philosophy departments go, so follow the other humanities disciplines.... All is not yet lost, though things are admittedly dark nowadays...
