The proper use of natural light can be chalked up as 'lost knowledge' in many quarters. Painting from life using one natural light source is simply the best and easiest way to learn. I feel it is my duty to preach to people that we paint light falling on form, not the form itself. I also want to teach people how to see, both spiritually and physically and to identify the colors they are really seeing, as opposed to what they think they are seeing. Down with the 20th century penchant for painting 'orange people'! The workshop would be a figure painting class if I had more time. Since we have to concentrate, I choose to concentrate on the head -- the most complex part of the complex human form.
