"This is a painting of one of the many beautiful peaks in the Sangre de Christo mountain range as seen in the winter from the village of Arroyo Seco near Taos, New Mexico. The snow-capped peak rises to 12,643 feet, so it often experiences severe weather even when conditions are much milder in the lower surrounding plains. A recent storm had left the upper half of the mountain blanketed in fresh snow and as the cold front was moving out of the area. High-altitude winds rose up and over the mountain creating ephemeral clouds and blowing powdered snow off the ridgelines and peaks high into blue sky." - DAMIEN GONZALES
