乡谣-小寒 (Ballad - Early Winter) by Xiangdong Liu

小寒是中国传统的二十四节气中节气之一，民间寓意中有说：小寒这一天如果天降瑞雪，则兆示着明年的风调雨顺，是个丰收的好年景。我画这样一幅作品，也是在为每年都会有好的年景作个祈福。在我的作品中表现春季、夏季、秋季的较多，而这种表现冬季的作品则是很少描绘的一个题材。

Minor Cold is one of the 24 traditional Chinese solar terms. In folk culture there is a saying that if it snows on the day of Minor Cold, it heralds a harvest year ahead. This is a piece that I painted as a blessing for every year's harvest. Moreover, in my artwork, all the other three seasons are depicted more often than winter, so this is a rare subject for me.
