Pen and ink on paper

  • ARC Staff Awards ($100 Cash Award)

This work makes full use of the slender character of the pen and it exquisitely depicts the white tiger's leisurely look and fur texture. At the same time, through the use of the white paper, the background of the picture is more prominent then the background of the dark jungle. The breath of the white tiger seems to breathe out. Onlookers can tell that its breaths are low, and the little spots in the air have increased the mysterious and romantic atmosphere of the picture, making the viewer more immersed. In ancient China, the white tiger was considered a kind of beast and carries with it a lot of positive symbolic connotations. The tiger is an endangered species, and it also calls for people to pay attention to the living conditions of animals and respect for nature.
