Oil on canvas

The idea behind this oil painting is about modern Gods or how Gods like those of the Ancient Greece or Egypt would look today. I don’t think the idea of the Gods that people had in previous centuries disappeared; they just transformed into another form. Today’s celebrities represents nearly the same meaning for people as did Gods from the past. People look forward to seeing them, to meeting them, and many people ask them for help. People even believe that if they had something that belongs to Modern Gods it would make them happy, healthy, or rich.

So it is in this oil painting Plutus (God of Wealth). Ploutos was usually depicted as a boy holding a cornucopia full of grain because this symbol was impressive and desired. Now such a thing not as impressive and some people might not know what a cornucopia is. But everyone knows and wants the dollar symbol.
