Leonid Plekhanov

United States

I was born in Siberia (Krasnoyarsk region, 1982) in so-called 'closed town', or small town with restricted access in the center of Siberia with its unique nature and people. I moved to Moscow in late 90th to study at the MIPT (Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology) where I got Masters degree in applied physics and mathematics. I had successful business career and finally founded international innovative technological company, where I currently serve as CEO (at GET corp).

At the same time art has always been an important part of my life. I started as self-taught artist, and later studied academic art and also orthodox icons art. Art gives me a way to explore connection between us - people and nature - on a piece of canvas. I mainly focused on figurative art and portraits, and believe that my paintings can connect people with (hopefully) better sides of the human being -- what I considers as one of the primary goal of the art.

My works can be found in collections in various countries (UK, USA, Australia, Russia).
I sign-off my artworks with PLX sign (few of them have full-length 'plekhanov' signature), which are two letters from my last name followed by X, reflecting Cyrillic 'X' in the original last name (which would be correctly transliterated as 'KH' in other cases).
Thank you,
