Carol Robey

United States

Carol’s childhood was filled with drawing, catching frogs and exploring the natural world.  She took courses at DeCordova Museum in Lincoln, Massachusetts, as a teenager.  At Harvard college, she illustrated scientific articles for faculty and her senior thesis in Biology.

Carol became a pediatrician and worked with families for thirty years. Ten years ago, she returned to art studies part-time with local artists in New England including David Curtis and Mary Minifiie.

In 2015, she retired from my pediatric practice of thirty years to return to painting, full-time.  Coupled with her appreciation for the environment, she is focused on the beauty of natural forms.  For the last five years she has been studying in the atelier of the master painter, Paul Ingbretson, now in Lawrence, MA.

Carol paints in oil and seeks to emulate works of the Boston School of Painting and Drawing of the early 20thcentury.  This approach is focused on the importance of edge, and impressionist color in the interpretation of form, which is built upon a strong foundation in realistic rendering.  She focuses on Landscape and floral still life.
