Yvonne Melchers- The Netherlands
Amsterdam based Yvonne Melchers' focus is on realistic/figurative oil paintings. Main series are the North Sea, Italian Scenes, Portraits of modern Italian men and boys in historical costumes (Siena Palio Portraits) and Rooms with a View. She has also made is a small series of still lifes. Portraits or other subjects by commission. Known for her fresh colors with the limited palette of Monet and clearly visible brush strokes because of the use of mostly bristle brushes. Exhibitions in Italy, Spain and the USA both physical and online, but mostly in The Netherlands in galleries, at art fairs and at Museum Møhlmann, The Netherlands. Works available on Artsy through Abend Gallery and 33Contemporary (USA). Preselected at BP Portrait Award 2015 and 2018, Dutch Portrait Award 2017 and Figurativas Barcelona 2017 and 2019. Nominated Dutch Portrait Award 2019. Finalist 14th Salon of Art Renewal Center 2019. Published in magazines and books on realistic/figurative art and in 7 issues of PoetsArtists Magazine in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Publication in “Today’s Masters” of Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine in November 2019 and in “Collector’s Focus/Marine Art” of American Art Collector in June 2020. Invited with 200 international artists for Exhibition “20x20” of Galería ArteLibre 20 years in Zaragoza, at Museum MEAM Barcelona in 2019 and at Palazzo Einaudi in Chivasso/Italy in 2020 (postponed to 2021 due to Corona virus). Work in numerous private collections around the world, in collection Academic Medical Center Amsterdam and in Museum Møhlmann Appingedam/The Netherlands.
