Brendan Johnston (b.1984) is a compelling young painter and sculptor dedicated to representational fine art. Born in New York City, Brendan developed an early interest in culture and history. After graduating from McGill University in Montreal with Majors in Art History and Humanities, Brendan moved back to New York to pursue a career as an artist. He studied academic drawing, painting and sculpture at the Harlem Studio of art and The Grand Central Atelier, from which he graduated in 2012. Brendan is now living in Long Island City, NY, where he is currently working in several genres of painting. He is also creating portrait busts in various types of stone. Recently, he has been the recipient of several awards, including the BP Portrait exhibition in London and second place in the the ‘Fully From Life’ category of the Art Renewal Center annual Salon. Brendan’s work is represented by galleries in California, New York and Massachusetts.
