Gavin Glakas is a professional artist with work in the permanent collections of the US Capitol, the Virginia State Capitol, universities, museums and numerous other collections both public and private. He studied at Washington University in St. Louis, the Slade School of Fine Art in London, and with Danni Dawson and Robert Liberace.
Glakas is represented by Principle Gallery in Alexandria, VA and Charleston, SC, Palm Avenue Fine Art in Sarasota, FL, and Hubert Gallery in New York City. His work has been featured in numerous publications as well as on NBC News, and he has won numerous awards, including awards from the Portrait Society of America and the Butler Institute of American Art.
He teaches drawing and painting at the Yellow Barn Studio in Glen Echo, MD, and Georgetown University Medical School.
