This is made possible by a selection of numerous drawings and ink by the Halle artist Inge Götze, which has been produced since 2013 for this exhibition within the Reformation anniversary. Their lively portraits, which are often very present despite their historical costumes, do not only refer to the depictions of the tapestry, they also include the works of a Dürer, Aldegrever and the Cranachs. The ornamental richness and lush materiality of the woven work of art are also taken into consideration. The textile artist, known above all for her work at the Halle Kunsthochschule Burg Giebichenstein, says of her current works: "My thoughts on the portrayal of portraits finally developed to the point that I emphasized specific ornaments in the respective garments of the person as a graphic background. to develop a game of robe patterns with the portraits and to mark them as individual persons. " that I emphasized specific ornaments in the respective garments of the person as a drawing background. So I tried to develop a game of robe patterns with the portraits and to mark them as individual persons.
