Power and Grace: Drawings by Rubens, Van Dyck, and Jordaens

19 January, 2018 to 29 April, 2018

The Morgan Library
225 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10016

Drawings played a crucial role in the artistic practice of the three giants of the Flemish Baroque, Peter Paul Rubens, Anthony van Dyck, and Jacob Jordaens . This exhibition features the greatest works on paper by the artists in the Morgan's collection, as well as a few key loans from local collections. The show highlights the distinctive graphic styles of each artist and their influence on one another. The Morgan is particularly well-suited to tell this fascinating story as its holdings of Rubens, Van Dyck, and Jordaens are unparalleled in the United States.
