LARA is thrilled to continue their collaboration with the fabulous Art Model Collective into 2019.

For our second session of the year AMC will pay tribute to the much-loved work of Alphonse Mucha on the 80th anniversary of his death.

This extravagant three hour multi-model life drawing session at a classical art atelier will feature models Carla and Manko as the beflowered spring sprites, as well as the smoking cigarette paper ad girls from Mucha’s enchanting artwork.

Alphonse Mucha needs no introduction – he produced a flurry of paintings, posters, advertisements and book illustrations in what was termed initially “The Mucha Style” but became known as Art Nouveau. Mucha’s works frequently featured beautiful young women in flowing, vaguely Neoclassical-looking robes, often surrounded by lush flowers which sometimes formed halos behind their heads. In contrast with contemporary poster makers he used pale pastel colors.

Please note, AMC's first Mucha tribute session two years ago was extremely popular with their followers and produced gorgeous and inspired artwork. We expect this event will sell out well in advance, so don’t hesitate to get your ticket. This session is strictly limited to 30 attendees.

The sessions are open to every level of skill.

Chairs and drawing boards will be provided for all and there are 18 easels available on a first-come, first-served basis.

AMC will provide a selection of paper and free materials courtesy of GreatArt. Artists are encouraged to experiment with different media – varied charcoals, pastels, pencils, pens and even chunky markers. (You are welcome to use wet materials like inks, watercolours and oils, but please bring your own.)

Advance tickets are on sale via EventBrite.
