Course Description:

Did you know that you can create beautiful artwork with dry drawing media? What's more, the majority of drawing media are non-toxic, easy to store, and don’t require working with drying times.

In this course you will start by building your skills as a colorist through a series of color theory exercises and projects in wax based colored pencil. As the course progresses you may choose to explore more advanced colored pencil techniques or you may choose to apply the lessons you learned in colored pencil as you explore other drawing media (oil based colored pencils, water soluble artist crayons, pastels, markers, etc.). The class will combine regular demos of new techniques and materials with individualized instruction tailored to your specific interests and skills.

Whether you are living in a small space and don’t have room for a large studio setup, you are trying to avoid toxic chemicals in your home, you are struggling to find long stretches of time to make art, or you are interested in expanding your possibilities as an artist, this class is for you! Open to all skill levels and ages.

Color Theory

Techniques in Dry Media
