The painting, "First Evening Lights of the Loire Valley," is based on a small plein air sketch I executed in the summer of 2020 while traveling through the Loire Valley, France. The painting depicts a brief moment when the light fades, and the first lights of the city come on, signaling the end of the day. I am interested in capturing these fleeting scenes because our fast-paced life and distracted nature are often unaware of these beautiful moments.
