Young Hendrix can’t wait to see his friends at school. “Put your shoes on first” his mother tells him. Not even the cloudiest day can dampen Hendrix’s keenness to go to school.

My intention for this painting is to share the imaginative, exciting, playful, scary, exhilarating wonder of youth; full of curiosity and eagerness to explore and learn more about the world. The painting also serves to create awareness around current topical need for better, more inclusive education and the importance of empowering the next generation with the necessary knowledge and tools to nurture a better future for humanity. To this end a third of the proceeds from the painting will go towards Hendrix’s education in testimony to creating art that makes a real difference.
