Cocooned is about a need to step away from the pressures of modern day life, to a safe, quiet place, and be present in the moment. The rippling fabrics are visually interesting but also a metaphor for the turbulent emotions going on beneath the surface of the serene figure. Whilst they are a reflection of the busyness of life, at the same time, the fabric enfolds and protects her in a comforting cocoon.
