I grew up on a ranch. I rode horses and looked for eggs from the chickens. My childhood was the idealized western experience. My kids are growing up in New York City. City kids through and through. Every year I take them back to the ranch for months at a time so that I might put a little country in my city kids. This is a painting of my son wearing my old cowboy hat, my old spurs, and my old belt. I'm trying to get him and my daughter to experience my childhood whilst vicariously reliving it.
