John has exhibited at the Grand Canyon Conservancy’s Celebration of Art from 2009 through 2022. In 2012 John’s painting “Out of the Depths” was selected to become part of the permanent collection of the Grand Canyon. John has served as Artist in Residence on both the South and North Rims.

John participated in Zion National Park’s Plein Air Invitational, from 2010 through 2021, winning multiple awards. The 2013 book, Art of the National Parks features John’s paintings in the section on Zion National Park. John was Zion Artist-in-Residence during April 2019.

John’s paintings are part of the permanent collections of the Grand Canyon, the James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art, Raymond James Financial, Xanterra Corporation, Zion National Park, Bernalillo County, Citizens Bank, Conoco Phillips, McGraw Hill, San Juan College, and Eastern New Mexico University, among others.
