William R. Davis was born 1952 in Somerville, Massachusetts.
Mostly a self taught oil painter. Mr. Davis has combined natural artictic ability with a capacity for keen observation of art from the past. Has always been interested in history. Enjoys recreating realistic tonal views of 18th to early 19th century maritime subjects. Currently working with early American photography to accurately render many of the coastal lighthouses as they were then or ones that unfortunatly no long exist.
