Liane Whittum was born in Phoenix in 1977 and moved to New Hampshire in the 1980’s. She has been oil painting since the age of 18 and has won numerous awards. Liane received her BA in Studio Art from New England College. Her recent series of paintings are a reflection of her time spent traveling by car since moving to Hill New Hampshire. Her work focuses primarily on landscapes and still life work done in a classical realism style. She gathers information on site and paints plein-air when composing landscape paintings. Liane plein air paints whenever she can, and she will often finish her paintings in her studio, which after consideration may be complete as a loose work, or become a more involved work of higher refinement.
