Hyung Ki Park

United States

Hyung Ki Park was born in Seoul, Korea in 1975. He first became interested in art when he was a child and spent many hours copying Korean manhwa (Korean comics). His family moved to California when he was ten years old. He considers himself a mostly self-taught artist, as he was creating Representational Art back before it was popular again and before teachers who taught these techniques were easily found.  As a young adult, he began working for major movie poster companies, Vox Advertising and Faction Creative. After deciding he wanted a change, he spent a decade in New York and furthered his own knowledge by taking workshops at Grand Central Atelier and the Art Students League. He has been a frequent exhibitor at the National Portrait Gallery, London, UK, and has had a successful carrier as an artist creating private commissioned works. Hyung Ki Park is a painter who works exclusively from life. Observing from nature and interpreting the three-dimensional nature of the world onto two-dimensional surfaces is core to his painting process. He moved to Las Vegas in 2008 where he currently resides.
