Teresa Garland Warner, a native of Dallas, Texas showed great promise as a young artist, receiving awards such as first place in drawing at the Dallas Scholastic Art Show held in the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts and exhibiting at the University of Dallas Art Competition. A busy career in medicine followed college and medical school, although she has always maintained a participation in art. Her career in medicine spanned almost 30 years. She retired in 2009 to pursue her passion for painting full time. Since 1991 she has lived in Montana with her husband and has 2 grown daughters. She and her husband travel around the west in their motorhome providing many plein air painting opportunities.
In recent years, Teresa has pursued art study in national workshops and Missoula Fine Art Studio (now Online Fine Art Studio). The prestigious Salon International 2013 at the former Greenhouse Gallery in San Antonio, Texas included one of her paintings. She has juried into shows at Dana Gallery including national juried Icons of the West 2012, and Montana Women in the Visual Arts 1860-2011 at Emerson Center in Bozeman. She was selected as one of the artists for Missoula Art Museum Benefit Auction 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022,2023,2024. Yellowstone Museum in Billings, MT included Teresa’s paintings in their art auctions. She was invited to participate in Brinton 101 at the Brinton Museum, Big Horn, WY in 2022. Local galleries showing Teresa’s art include Cassens Fine Art, and Paws Up. National Oil and Acrylic Painters’ Society accepted her paintings in their International Online 2018 and 2022 fall exhibitions and 2022 Spring exhibition (where she received a Merit Award), Best of America Exhibition 2019 at Montgomery Lee Gallery in Park City, UT, and Best of American Exhibition 2021 at Dana Gallery, Missoula, MT. Oil Painters of America selected one of her paintings for the 2020 Western Regional Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils. In 2020 she juried into American Artists Professional League 92nd Grand National Exhibition at Salmagundi Club in New York City. Teresa has paintings in private collections around the country.
