Nicole Maye Luga is an American landscape painter.  She paints predominantly with oils in the contemporary traditionalist style.  She attended The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts where she studied painting under Sidney Goodman, Barbara Goodstein, Patricia Truab and Elizabeth Osborne.  Nicole graduated the with a 4 year certificate in painting and then graduated from the PAFA Master’s Program earning her MFA. After graduating she traveled to Europe and lived in Albania for some time. During the time she lived abroad she found a new appreciation for landscape painting. Returning to Philadelphia, Nicole was an active member of the Philadelphia Sketch Club. She is also an active member of The National Association of Women Artists based in New York City. Nicole has received numerous awards from juried shows throughout the United States.  Her work was published in the International Artist Magazine "How to Paint Your Favorite Subjects" book, and is currently exhibiting in local and national juried shows.  Nicole’s paintings are currently being exhibited at The Butler Midyear Show at the Butler Institute of American Art for the third year in a row. She also is in a traveling exhibition, The Fred Danziger Collection of Contemporary Art that just concluded a show at The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Loretto and is currently on view at The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Museum. Nicole is living in Ohio where she balances her time in her painting studio and works as a watch smith. Her latest project is completing a series of paintings for her solo show at the Crary Art Gallery, a private museum in Warren PA, April 2023.
