    Mrs. Claude R. Barucs

Dear Mrs. Barucs: your letter of the 3rd December has been forwarded to me by Scribners. I have made two or three book plates, but they have not been very good, so I have decided not to make any more. Edward D. French ofr Saranac Lake, New York, is of course our most noted engraver on copper of heraldic book-plates, but aside from him, I do not know of any one who makes very good designs.

    Sincerely

    Maxfield Parrish
