My Dear Skinner-
The bearer of this note is an old friend of mine Wm Cockran, he has had a large newspaper experience but misfortune has of late pursued him and he is just out from many weeks in the hospital from overwork. I recommend him to you very earnestly in the hope that you can place some work in his way for he is honest industrious and in every way deserving of your help to start again in the world. I address this to you as I know your influence in the Eagle and your good heart.
