Light as a metaphor for the numinous has been the foundation of Louise Feneley's work.

At age 4 Louise Feneley stated she was going to be an artist and this has been her lifelong focus.
Initially taught by her mother, a trained artist and teacher, she attended full time art school as soon as possible and graduated with distinction. She worked as an artist for some years but life took an unexpected turn and she was unable to pursue her painting career for 21 years – even though she continued to draw and teach - after which she returned to her passion and later attended Adelaide Central School of Art to re-connect with other like-minded painters.
Her teaching life began at age 19 and she continues to teach in the Atelier Programme at Adelaide Central School of Art.
