Sandy Sherman, a native of New Hampshire, has been painting in a realistic manner since 1980.  Her forte is still life paintings which feature unusual objects with interesting effects of light and color.  Irony, whimsy and fun pervade many of her canvases.  She also hand paints the frames to tailor fit the subject matter.

Sandy trained with Richard Whitney, PhD.H, Debbie Crowder and Peter Granucci.  Highlights of her career include awards in competitions hosted by the Academic Artists Association, the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club in NYC, and the Sharon (NH) Arts Center.  In 1992, she was awarded the title of Copley Artist from the Copley Society of Art in Boston.  In 2002 she earned a Finalist award in the annual competition in painting hosted by The Artists Magazine.  Sandy held two one-woman exhibits of her paintings at Peter Havens in Brattleboro, Vermont to benefit The Aids Foundation. In 2017 she was honored by her community with a Ewing Arts Award. She taught Art at Hawthorne Academy in Antrim, NH as well as tutoring private students. Her paintings have been shown in galleries in Boston, New York and Atlanta.
