Gabriela Gonzalez is a narrative artist, using representational figurative subjects. She received her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City.  

Gabriela’s themes mix figurative narratives, with contemporary psychology. This combination offers viewers a unique cultural statement and interpretation. Her versatility, yet singular vision has materialized itself in varied subjects such as clowns, brides and homage self-portraits.    

Among some of the publications her work had been published in are:  American Art Collector, American Artist, The Artist’s Magazine, ARTnews, Fine Art Connoisseur, Naples Daily News, Newsday,  The New York Times and the Trenton Times. Her work has also been exhibited in museum invitationals:  Re-presenting Representation VII at The Arnot Art Museum; “Portrait of America: The Nation and Ohio” at The Butler Institute of American Art; “WOMENARTISTS@NEWBRITAIN MUSEUM” at The New Britain Museum, among others.  She has had one- woman exhibitions in 2006 and 2016 at the Butler Institute of American Art, OH. 

Gabriela’s art is part of several museum collections, including: The Arkansas Arts Center, AR; The Butler Institute of American Art, OH; The Fort Wayne Museum of Art, IN; The Heckscher Museum of Art, Huntington, NY; The Golisano Children’s Museum in Naples, Fl; The Municipal Museum, Guayaquil, Ecuador; The Museum of Art, Deland, FL: The New Britain Museum of American Art, CT; The  Polk Museum of Art, Lakeland, FL;  The Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, NJ; The Salmagundi Club, NY and the Springfield Art Museum, MO.   Her creativity has garnered her over 25 awards in the past decade including gold medals from The Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, The Pastel Society of America and Audubon Artists of America. 

Gabriela is represented by the Harmon-Meek Gallery in Naples, Florida.  She is an instructor at The New York School for the Arts in New York City and The JCC of Manhattan.

From the POLK MUSEUM website: This exhibition features Dellosso’s tribute paintings to great but often-overlooked female masters of the past. Looking at women artists from the Renaissance through the modern era, these exquisite academically-rendered paintings are based on in-depth study of artists including Genevieve Estelle Jones, Angelica Kauffman, Sofonisba Anguissola, Remedios Varo,Sophie Gengembre Anderson and many others.
