This piece explores the idea of inevitable decay and the mood it may invoke in those people most affected by it. This King has grown old and decrepit, the passing of many years shown likewise on his rusted crown, a symbol of former power and glory gone by. He appears only as a shadow of his former self, rendered immobile without legs, and seemingly ruminates on his old life.
