Fine Art Academy Cologne (FAAC) is a special place dedicated entirely to the teaching of drawing, painting, comics and digital art. Deriving from the classical figurative arts and influenced from the works of artists such as Rembrandt, Rubens, Caravaggio, Jean-Léon Gérôme, Léon Bonnat, Velasquez and Titian. The FAAC reveals the knowledge of the old masters from the renaissance till the 19th century academic painters. The FAAC generates the traditional atelier atmosphere and keeps the traditions of 19th century academic schools. The FAAC is the school you are searching for if you want to learn the secrets of the old masters and the skills of drawing and painting the academic and traditional way.

To do so, we will give you the tools with which you can study the foundation of light, nature, perspective, composition, anatomy and colors and teach you to observe reality in a different way – in an artistic way.
Always felt like there is an artist within you? Always wanted to draw? Always dreamt about becoming a painter?

Our goal is to train our students and improve their skills in search of self-expression. Don’t hesitate to contact us even if you think your work is not good enough, as it can always be improved.
The FAAC can give you the insight you need on the methods that will help you grow artistically and profound and deepen your knowledge in the fields of art.

The FAAC teaching methodologies are based on the traditional techniques of painting and drawing, and though we offer digital art courses, it is a necessity to study figurative and realistic drawings and paintings the traditional way.

We aspire to motivation and dedication from our students, as well as for the love of the Fine Arts.
Our teachers are skilled renowned artists specialized in Fine Arts and figurative drawing, painting and comics. They have the experience and dedication to lead you on your artistic research and guide you through your artistic questioning, as well as providing you with the tools you need to explore different dimensions of self-expression.

Art is a language transmitted in our society for thousands of years and we can teach you how to “speak” it.

The Academy´s aim is to guide its students in their path to artistic excellence and success in a professional career. If you are motivated and want to learn how to paint or draw, in full time or as a hobby or integrating yourself in fashion design, cinema, media design, illustration or even the art of tattoos?

Then you are in the right place.

Guil Zekri

Director

Guil Zekri is a baroque-inspired painter and tattoo artist, born in September 1974 in Israel. His artistic career began in his early life and led him in search of art to Paris. There he graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Paris 8 (1998-2001). In 2003 Guil decided to move to Germany to live with his partner, whom he eventually married and with whom he still lives today. Guil Zekri is today one of the most innovative tattoo artists on the international scene and is known for his realistic, dramatic and mysterious compositions. In 2007 Guil Zekri earned his artistic reputation by opening his first tattoo studio “Reinkarnation” in Cologne, followed by a second studio in 2014. Since then Guil has travelled to all major European cities and participated in the most important tattoo conventions, is mentioned in numerous scene magazines and books and holds seminars, lectures and workshops all over the world. Guil´s close contact with his family in Israel creates a second reality after spending half his life in Europe. And the contrast between both realities has set the direction in his work. His oil paintings are a combination of Baroque and Romanticism and the themes are marked by his Jewish upbringing and his life in Israel. Guil is currently working on his first exhibitions and on his Fine Art Academy in Cologne – and on new paintings.
