Perfecting Realism in Portraiture Workshop

Published on November 22, 2024

The ARC Approved Kline Academy of Fine Art is offering a unique 5 day Pixel Glazing Portrait workshop. Developed by acclaimed artist Lo Chan Peng, this original workshop teaches a multi-day system to capture the unique texture of skin in painting.

Pixel Glazing is a system that requires simultaneous consideration of different aspects of painting. Lo Chan Peng will guide students in understanding the basic principles of painting, such as 'hue,' 'chroma,' and 'value,' and the characteristics of oil painting materials, including transparent and opaque colors. Additionally, he will introduce the concept of the 'map' of the palette and how to 'bury' colors, explain the 'fishing net' painting method, and discuss strategies for completing a painting.

The workshop will run from Thursday, December 26th – Monday, December 30th, 2024 at the Kline Academy of Fine Art, 3264 Motor Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90034.
