Sotheby's 19th Century Art Auction Results

The Sotheby's New York auction of 19th Century European Art which took place on May 18, 2016, concluded with a strong total of $14.3 million, and the highest percentage of lots sold in this category in over a decade. Property formerly from the Collection of Margaret Thompson Biddle soared past presale estimates and achieved a total of $4.9 million, including Jean BĂ©raud's Bois de Boulogne, which sold for more than double its high estimate for an impressive sum of $1.8 million.
