New Work Added to Live ARC Salon

We are pleased to announce that Savoy Cabbage in a Box by Bruno Di Maio has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
"The beauty and attraction that flowers have always had on painters is an ancient story. Their delicacy, the clearness, their graceful shape and especially the symbolism, are irresistible for artists who love the still-life. However, the creations of nature that daily are on our lunch-table, vegetables and salads, I have always found fascinating and stylish. Their complex shapes and peculiar colors make it appear, to my eyes, as if they are unique 'edibles flowers'. In the special case of the savoy cabbage, its thousands of round green hills crossed by sinuous roads that run to infinity and its regal immanence pushed me to portray it. Seeing it with a high-powered lens is amazing. I inserted this rich life form lying down on a crumpled red paper, its royal mantle, and put it all in a damaged, old, cardboard box. The contrast between something full of life and something lifeless, enhances both their charm. If we want to see the humor of this piece in an ironic way, the painting is an excellent way to keep the savoy cabbage, with all its charm, for a long time, without running the risk of it losing its freshness!" - Bruno Di Maio
