New Work Added to ARC Salon

April 27, 2017

We are pleased to announce that XXII II MMVI by Kazua Torigoe has been added to the 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition.
XXII II MMVI is a play on the classical idea of trompe-l'oeil and is painted on a traditional copper plate. The magic of this painting occurs when looking at it from approximately 6 feet away. This is where the objects in this work come alive and take on a feeling of the fourth-dimension, existing in our same time and space. When one approaches to get a closer look, the objects re-enter the three-dimensional plane and the viewer can tell it is in fact a painting.
The 12th International ARC Salon Exhibition will be on view at the Salmagundi Club, NYC from May 12th – June 1st with the public opening reception on Saturday, May 13th from 11am to 3pm. The works will then travel to the MEAM Museum, Barcelona where they will be on view from September 23rd – November 27th.
