At ARC, we view our Scholarship program as one of the most important. In order for future generations to produce great art, we must not lose the accumulated knowledge of the last several centuries. At our ARC Approved™ atelier schools, we know these methods are still taught by some of the greatest artists alive today and the students who are the recipients of these scholarships will receive the training necessary to create great works of art and carry the knowledge to the next generation. ARC Approved™ Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art is now accredited by National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). International students are welcomed - SEVIS approved for M-1 and F-1 Visas. LAAFA is also approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for Educational Benefits. | |
Elyse Fulcher - Fine Art Student | Students are encouraged to submit applications and documents for Fall 2015 Intensive Fundamental Art Programs, Fine Art and Entertainment Art Degree and Certificate Programs. Students who submit all their documents by June 15th will benefit by receiving: 2014/2015-tuition rate of $4900 per quarter ($800 annual saving), scholarships, work-study and financial aid opportunities. LAAFA is a rolling admissions institution and applications are accepted until all spots are taken. LAAFA accepts a limited number of students for each start group. |

Curated by artist Colleen Barry, NUDE convenes twenty-five leaders of contemporary realism for a drawing show that celebrates the human form. Exhibited works will display a cross-section of styles, representing some of the world’s foremost art academies: The Gage Academy, The Florence Academy of Art, Studio Incamminati, Grand Central Atelier, The Art Students League, and the Repin Academy. Celebrating the human body as the shared origin of inspiration, these works present a dazzling synthesis of technical skill and personal vision. MEAM Competition

The MEAM is still accepting entries for their 8th Figurativas Painting and Sculpture Competition, Figurativas 2015, through May 30th. The ARC Salon’s works for the live exhibit will be mounted at the same time the MEAM mounts its 8th Figurativas Painting and Sculpture Competition. The MEAM competition is organized by the Foundation of the Art and the Artists, which is, along with the ARC Salon, the other most important competition for representational art. The 8th Figurativas Painting and Sculpture Competition, Figurativas 2015, will run between November 17th and January 10th. The Official Awards Ceremony of ARC Salon and Figurativas 2015 winners will take place as one tremendous event on November 20th, 2015 at 19:00 hours at the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona and a Forum of American and European representational artists will take place the following day on Saturday the 21st. | |

The Representational Art Conference 2015 (TRAC2015) will take place from November 1 – 4th. It is the premier international art conference focused on the philosophical underpinnings of representational art in the 21st Century. This year TRAC will explore the roots and principles of representation as they emerge after postmodernity. TRAC provides a platform for discussion. It does not aspire to establish a single monolithic aesthetic for representational art, but seeks to identify commonalities, to help to understand the unique possibilities of representational art, and perhaps provide some illumination about future directions. The exhibition, “Realism in the Raw”, will showcase works by Van Fossan and New York-based artists Brandon Soloff and Jennifer Gennari. The show will open with a reception on Thursday, May 14 from 6pm – 10pm. An additional public reception will be held Saturday, May 16 from 6 to 10pm. Educated in the cradle of the Italian Renaissance, in Florence, Shane Wolf (originally from Cincinnati) attended the prestigious Angel Academy of Art to pursue intensive studies of traditional, academic drawing and painting. Beginning his studies as an auspicious student in 2005, he later became one of the Academy's professors of drawing and painting for his remaining 2 years.
