As a final reminder, we will be accepting entries for the ARC Scholarship Competition through May 31, 2015.

At ARC, we view our Scholarship program as one of the most important. In order for future generations to produce great art, we must not lose the accumulated knowledge of the last several centuries. At our ARC Approved™ atelier schools, we know these methods are still taught by some of the greatest artists alive today and the students who are the recipients of these scholarships will receive the training necessary to create great works of art and carry the knowledge to the next generation.

GCA Student Exhibition

The Grand Central Atelier is holding their End-of-Year Exhibition on May 29, 2015 from 6:30-9:30pm. This event is free and open to the public.
Curated by the students, the show will feature cast, portrait, figure, still life and landscape paintings, drawings and sculptures.

ARC Approved™ LAAFA Now Accredited

ARC Approved™ Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art is now accredited by National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). International students are welcomed - SEVIS approved for M-1 and F-1 Visas. LAAFA is also approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for Educational Benefits.

Students are encouraged to submit applications and documents for Fall 2015 Intensive Fundamental Art Programs, Fine Art and Entertainment Art Degree and Certificate Programs. Students who submit all their documents by June 15th will benefit by receiving: 2014/2015-tuition rate of $4900 per quarter ($800 annual saving), scholarships, work-study and financial aid opportunities. LAAFA is a rolling admissions institution and applications are accepted until all spots are taken. LAAFA accepts a limited number of students for each start group.

The Critique of Reason: Romantic Art, 1760-1860

The first major collaborative exhibition between the Yale University Art Gallery and the Yale Center for British Art, this exhibition offers an unprecedented opportunity to display together treasured works from both museums' collections. The show comprises paintings, sculptures, medals, watercolors, drawings, prints, and photographs by such iconic artists as William Blake, Géricault, Goya, and Turner.
The exhibit will be held at The Yale University Art Gallery - 1111 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT until July 26, 2015.

Drawing Show

May 26, 2015

Curated by artist Colleen Barry, NUDE convenes twenty-five leaders of contemporary realism for a drawing show that celebrates the human form. Exhibited works will display a cross-section of styles, representing some of the world’s foremost art academies: The Gage Academy, The Florence Academy of Art, Studio Incamminati, Grand Central Atelier, The Art Students League, and the Repin Academy. Celebrating the human body as the shared origin of inspiration, these works present a dazzling synthesis of technical skill and personal vision.

The exhibition will be at Eleventh Street Arts, 46-06 11th St, Long Island City, NY 11101 from May 9 to June 6, 2015. Open Monday through Saturday by appointment only.

ARC Salon Catalog and DVD Pre-Order

The 2014-2015 ARC Salon Catalogue and Art Renewal Center Series DVD featuring Cesar Santos are available for pre-order in the ARC Store.
The 2013-2015 Catalogue features 789 color artworks, approximately 300 pages, an introduction to the ARC Salon and our first live exhibition including an essay on the top winners and their winning works.

The Art Renewal Center Series DVD - Figure Painting with Cesar Santos is produced by Streamline Art Video and will showcase master artist, Cesar Santos's technique with a painting demonstration, an interview with the artist, and a profile of the artist's oeuvre.

MEAM Competition

May 20, 2015

The MEAM is still accepting entries for their 8th Figurativas Painting and Sculpture Competition, Figurativas 2015, through May 30th. The ARC Salon’s works for the live exhibit will be mounted at the same time the MEAM mounts its 8th Figurativas Painting and Sculpture Competition. The MEAM competition is organized by the Foundation of the Art and the Artists, which is, along with the ARC Salon, the other most important competition for representational art. The 8th Figurativas Painting and Sculpture Competition, Figurativas 2015, will run between November 17th and January 10th. The Official Awards Ceremony of ARC Salon and Figurativas 2015 winners will take place as one tremendous event on November 20th, 2015 at 19:00 hours at the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona and a Forum of American and European representational artists will take place the following day on Saturday the 21st.

ARC Living Artist™ Debra Keirce has won Best in Show at the 2015 Prairie Winds 16th National Annual Miniature Show for her 2.5 inch high painting titled “Vanilla”.

The work will be on display at the Prairie Winds Art Center - 112 West 3rd St., Grand Island, NE 68801 from May 1- 31, 2015.

TRAC Conference Early Bird Registration

The Representational Art Conference 2015 (TRAC2015) will take place from November 1 – 4th. It is the premier international art conference focused on the philosophical underpinnings of representational art in the 21st Century. This year TRAC will explore the roots and principles of representation as they emerge after postmodernity.

TRAC provides a platform for discussion. It does not aspire to establish a single monolithic aesthetic for representational art, but seeks to identify commonalities, to help to understand the unique possibilities of representational art, and perhaps provide some illumination about future directions.

ARC Living Master™ Robert Liberace Show

ARC Living Master™ Robert Liberace will be having a dual exhibit with Theresa Oaxaca.

The show runs from May 12 – June 2, 2015 at the Principal Gallery on 208 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314.
There will be two in-gallery demo nights along with the exhibition of new works. Both Teresa and Robert are to paint alla prima portraits from a live model.

Teresa’s live demo will be held at Principle Gallery on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 6:00 PM.

Robert’s live demo at Principle Gallery will be Friday, May 29, 2015 at 6:00 PM, featuring E. Hunt Burke, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Burke & Herbert Bank as model.

James Van Fossan Exhibition

ARC Associate Living Master™ James Van Fossan will be making a grand debut of his painting entitled, Drama Magnifico, which will be accompanied with an original score written and performed by Van Fossan himself.
The exhibition, “Realism in the Raw”, will showcase works by Van Fossan and New York-based artists Brandon Soloff and Jennifer Gennari. The show will open with a reception on Thursday, May 14 from 6pm – 10pm. An additional public reception will be held Saturday, May 16 from 6 to 10pm.

The exhibition will take place at 9 Great Jones Street in New York City. Complimentary wine and cheese will be served to all the guests attending.

IGOR Masterworks Museum Exhibition and Competition

The International Guild of Realism (IGOR), an ARC Allied Organization, is holding an exhibition scheduled from May 19 - July 26, 2015 at the prestigious R.W. Norton Art Gallery in 4747 Creswell Ave Shreveport, Louisiana.

This will be an IGOR members-only exhibition with an emphasis on museum-quality artwork. Among the artists exhibiting are ARC Living Masters™ David Bowers, Ardith Starostka, and Vala Ola and ARC Associate Living Masters™ Don Clapper, Ed Copley, and Sivananda Nyayapathi.

The Atelier offers the opportunity for both Part Time and Full Time study, including a discounted-tuition scholarship program. Workshops with nationally known guest artists, and short term, full time Intensives for students who want an immersive experience are also offered at the atelier.

We are pleased to welcome Shane Wolf as our newest ARC Living Master™.

Educated in the cradle of the Italian Renaissance, in Florence, Shane Wolf (originally from Cincinnati) attended the prestigious Angel Academy of Art to pursue intensive studies of traditional, academic drawing and painting. Beginning his studies as an auspicious student in 2005, he later became one of the Academy's professors of drawing and painting for his remaining 2 years.
