Part eight in a series of 15 plus articles on French and English Academic Painting by ARC COO, Kara Lysandra Ross, has been published in the Epoch Times.

This article focuses on three French artists who could not be left out of the first half of the series focusing on French 19th century painting, Jehan Georges Vibert (1840–1902), Gustave Doré (1832–1883), and James Jacques Joseph Tissot (1836-1902).

"Apart from the artists who were given varying degrees of administrative power in the French Academies, there were many artists who dedicated their time solely to painting and became famous for their work without becoming involved in leadership roles. These are three such artists."

New ARC Purchase Award

Published November 3, 2016

We are pleased to announce the next purchase award for the 12th International ARC Salon Competition. Carmen Ruiz Segura's painting titled, Don Quijote, has now been added to the ARC Collection.
"This painting, Don Quijote, is apart of my paper series which I have recently been focusing on. I wanted to honor and commemorate the fourth centenary since the death of Don Miguel de Cervantes y Saavedra.

Paper provides me the freedom and joy of creating my own models, to play between the reality of a still life and dreamlike fantasy, generating a new world where my imagination and the viewer can dance between what it is real and what it is not."
All purchase awards will be exhibited at the live exhibition for the ARC Salon which will travel from the Salmagundi Club in New York City to the MEAM museum in Barcelona in 2017. More purchase award announcements to follow.
