Realism Live

REALISM LIVE, The World’s First Virtual Realism Art Conference is taking place online over three days, on October 22, 23, and 24, with a beginners’ day on October 21.
Realism Live will contain art instruction demonstrations, talks on art principles, lectures on art history, painting critiques, and artist roundtable discussions. Participants will use Streamline’s community platform to interact, and live painting from live models will take place for all attendees.

Art Revolution Taipei

Art Revolution Taipei (A.R.T.) 2020, has announced its finalists, and 334 pieces by 168 artists were selected out for the Grand Prize Exhibition. ARC Living MasterTM Ana Schmidt has been selected with two pieces to participate in this event.
Organized by Taiwan International Contemporary Artist Association (TICAA) since 2012, this competition upholds the idea to connect Taiwan with the global market.
The exhibition can be viewed from August 15 - 26, 2020 with reservations required and there will be a public exhibition from August 27 - 30, 2020 at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (Warehouse 2 & 3) No. 133, Guangfu South Road, Xinyi District. Taipei, Taiwan.

Magnificent Miniatures

For the third year in a row, the Museum Møhlmann is holding "Maginificent Minatures", an exhibition of works 14 by 14 inches or smaller.
The tempera on panel painting "Dried Leaf", by ARC Associate Living MasterTM Gezien van de Riet, is included in the exhibition.
The show runs from July 31 - September 27, 2020 at the Museum Møhlmann, 102 Westersingel, Appingedam, Netherlands.

14th ARC Salon Virtual Exhibition on Long-term View at Sotheby’s

We are very happy to announce that if you missed seeing the 14th International Virtual ARC Salon Exhibition at Sothebys.com, you are not too late! The entirety of the show including the written interview, virtual walk through space and 70 video interviews with the exhibiting artists are still on view and will remain on view indefinitely. Feel free to take your time and come back again and again to enjoy the totality of the show at your own pace. The videos come from around the world and collectively form a powerful story of the representational art movement, totaling 2 hours of edited video footage! We have embedded this footage directly into the digital catalog with a two-page spread to each artist, creating a uniquely engaging virtual experience. Each artist is different, each story is different, but together they tell an overarching story about the passion behind representational expression, life, and the human condition as reflected in the art itself.

2020 RGCR Student Exhibition

An exhibition of ARC Approved Rob Gutteridge's School of Classical Realism student work made during 2019-20. It includes Bargue drawings, life drawings, drawing master copies, cast drawings, and independent work. Rob Gutteridge will also exhibit a life drawing. It is an opportunity to view the atelier school and talk to some of the students taking part in the exhibition.
The exhibition takes place on Sundays, August 16, 23, 30, 12pm - 4pm at 49A Whitmore Square, Adelaide SA 5000 Australia.

James Tissot, Ambiguously modern

This exhibition presents both the great successes of James Tissot who often created iconic images, and his boldest experiments. It also examines his materials and painting techniques, the themes that were dear to him and their variations, as well as his desire to express himself in different media, such as prints, photography and cloisonné enamels, in addition to painting.

2020 Virtual Juried Salon Show

Oil Painters of America are hosting their 2020 Salon Show virtually, from August 13 - October 3, 2020, featuring almost 300 representational oil paintings. The focus in the jurying process was to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.
ARC Living Masters John Buxton, John Pototschnik and Ardith Starostka, ARC Associate Living Masters Denise Antaya, Charles Kapsner, Alana Knuff, and Sivananda Nyayapathi, and ARC Living Artist George Angelini have artworks exhibiting in the show.

El Greco: Ambition and Defiance

Our World Reimagined, A Northern California Chapter Exhibition

"Our World Re-Imagined" is the Northern California Chapter’s first virtual exhibition with the California Art Club (CAC).
This exhibition’s theme is to inspire the artists to visually interpret their perception of how the world changed during Covid-19. The show is a diverse snapshot into each artist’s state of mind and visual interpretations during this time. These images range from hopeful beautiful landscapes and past times of busy urban life to desolate rural buildings, vacant urban establishments, and isolated people.

Edward Hopper and the American Hotel

Edward Hopper and the American Hotel is an exhibition that looks at the iconic midcentury artist’s fascination with places of transience, escape, and anonymity. Guests can explore the romantic and noir-ish side of hotels, motels, and tourist homes; learn about the ways 20th-century Americans participated in travel culture depending on their race, gender, and bank account; and see how Hopper’s works fit into a long tradition of using hotels to suggest emotions and ideas in art.
