2027 Winter/ Spring Intake

Angel Academy of Art — Florence, Italy

Angel Academy of Art offers one of the most rigorous classical fine arts programmes in the world, rooted in a direct pedagogical lineage from Pietro Annigoni — one of the twentieth century's great figurative masters — through founder Michael John Angel to the school's faculty today. This is not a curriculum inspired by the Old Masters. It is the tradition, transmitted without interruption.

The Academy is located in the historic centre of Florence, steps from the Uffizi, the Accademia, and five centuries of accumulated artistic achievement. For students serious about classical realism, Florence is not a backdrop. It is the education.

Full-Year Diploma Programme — Beginning January 2027,

the three-year diploma offers sustained, full-time immersion in drawing, painting, and the complete Old Master method. Applications close 1 October 2026.

Intensive Courses 

For artists seeking focused, structured study, the Academy offers four-week portrait intensives throughout the year with a maximum of six students per session.

Winter sessions begin: 4 January · 1 February · 1 March 2027
Spring sessions begin: 12 April · 10 May · 7 June 2027

No Italian student visa is required for Intensive Course participants. Applications are accepted up to two weeks before your chosen start date.
