That would be OK Kim if the head of the department and the other faculty members had a live and let live attitude towards the professor hopefully that the school would hire who is capable to impart this knowledge since the current faculty surely can not.
But as soon at a capable teacher comes on board he or she will be harassed by the rest of the department. This is exactly what has happened in every instance that I have ever heard of where this was tried.
Only if the classical/traditional professors/masters are given complete autonomy as if in another department, does it have any chance of working.
