You have a supporter here in Montreal, Canada. I often visit your website.
I have a preference and respect of the unsurpassed art of the old masters. I myself create art in oils and I paint realistically with a little touch of surrealism. I cannot stand art such as for example (Christopher Wool's FUCKEM) which sells for $200,000 US. Most of today`s modern galleries, even here in Montreal, are full of such art or naive art. I think I am very talented because I believe in good drawing skills, imprimatura, glazing, impasto... etc... I have been criticized by some very modern galleries that my work is not 'avant-garde' enough, my colors are dark, my tendencies are classic, etc...
My question is, who are they to judge and decide what should be the path of modern art, because in my opinion, it's not heading in the right direction.
Maybe one day I will have the opportunity to show my work and join the battle against the (may I say ugly and meaningless) art that is out there.
