Mr Ross:

I am a painter living in a cabin in the bush with my family, and have always been determined to paint what I see, and remain happy with the beauty in all of the things that surround me. I so enjoyed reading your address to the portrait painters, in which you identified elements of both good and bad art. Although I went to university in Fine Art, I never believed that modern art was good. I really believed that it was an excuse to simplify to a degree that allowed for mass production. I have a huge dislike for the work of Picasso.

I thank you for the encouragement that your talk has left me with. I will always be a painter.

Yours,
Kim
