Fred Ross' article about art critic Thomas Hoving nailed it so perfectly that I could have written it myself. Art critics champion the
childlike scrawls of Picasso, while the public rejects it. There must be a lesson there somewhere. Of course, a certain type of people become art critics -- I better not say which, it might be called "hate."
Thank God for Art Renewal website. Slowly you will re-educate the American/Western public about what art really should be and mean. Again,
thanks from all of us true art lovers.
PS -- I own Hoving's 1999 book "Art for Dummies." Apt title.
