I believe in your mission. I have always been averse to modern art, since many years before I discovered your web site. I've always believed it lacks skill and validity. That is so painfully obvious to those of us who are of a rational mind. I think your web site is the single greatest archive of classical art. It serves as a great beacon of light and inspiration for people like me. Currently, I am almost finished painting in acrylic a copy of Bouguereau's "Cupid & Psyche as Children," which I downloaded from your site. I've put over 100 hours into it and it looks great! I've taken some art classes at a local community college. I liked a couple of the teachers, but disliked a couple of other teachers who believed in and promoted modern art. Now I am taking a break from school and am doing what *I* want to do as far as art projects. I am painting what my silly painting teacher wouldn't allow me to paint for class assignments. She was against beauty, sentimentality, realism, and angels in art. She was also against spending a lot of time on one painting. The work of most of her students looked like trash. She taught almost nothing about technique. I've had to teach myself. I think I can do better by reading good art instruction books and by studying the works of the great masters, like Bouguereau. I plan to go back and take more art classes, but I will not take any more classes from teachers who are modern art advocates, because it's a waste of time. You learn nothing from them. I would very much like to do illustration for a living, but if I can't do that for some reason, I still plan to paint great classical style paintings in my spare time and to communicate with likeminded artists. It is enriching to the soul. Thank you very much and keep up the great work. Your web site is much needed.
