For many years I have spent endless hours scouring the web for high quality pictures of artwork by artists like Bougeureau, Alma-Tadema, Leighton, Millais and others. I have amassed a small collection this way. Then this morning I came across the ARC site and I am in total disbelief. Tears of joy streamed down my eyes. I am struggling to come up with words to describe my feelings. I no longer see the need to download these pictures. They are all here and thousands more. This is truly amazing. It is even more gratifying to know that there are thousands of other people who share my belief of what true art is. College art courses try hard to pass the uninspired scribblings of Pollock, de Kooning and others as art. And if you dare disagree with them, you are looked upon as someone who lacks the intellect or sophistication to grasp it. Frankly, I even fail to see why Picasso's cubism appeals to the people that spend the millions on his paintings. But then beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Please keep up the good work. Your site is truly a joy for thousands of people.
