Some years ago I studied with Frank Mason, and he did a portrait demo for the class. I have to say is what he produced in 2.5 hours was quite amazing.
If Mr. Hockney needs proof that masters can paint with out the use of devices I suggest he make his way to the Art Students League in New York and study with Frank to see what its all about.
This man can paint.
