Both my long term educational and career goals feed into each other. My education so far in the traditional fine arts has made such an impact on how I look at the world. It has given me the tools to research and be curious about the world around me as well as find beauty in it. It would be so fulfilling to give that to others. I know that in order to do this my education will need to continue and that I will need to strive towards studying nature to a greater degree. I am hoping that by finishing the three year painting program at The Florence Academy of Art I will have completed one step towards a larger goal of having the knowledge to teach and enrich others lives.

I started the program here because I wanted to be able to represent the human form through realism. Realism gives me the opportunity to express stories and themes to a larger community without the boundary of spoken language. I hope I can continue learning with this goal in mind and one day I would like to be in a place with my experience where I can teach other people looking to express themselves with realism.

I know that the learning process never ends and I plan to seek more knowledge wherever I can: reading, workshops, museum visits, and trying to depict the world around me. After my education I want to focus my time on both teaching and creating work while continuing this cycle of accruing knowledge and insight.
